Although we provide access to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs in the region, we also promote peace and dialogue in the communities. Connectivity for Peace and Dialogue remains one of our dear initiatives: Bosco-Uganda’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Development Centres across the region connect over a thousand beneficiaries, enabling communication that promotes understanding and reduces conflict. We provide access to the internet and communication tools. Bosco-Uganda helps communities engage in dialogue, share experiences, address post-conflict grievances, and foster reconciliation. “Bosco-Uganda on the Key Peace-building Efforts.” We want to see that all the communities live in peace.
Cultural Preservation and Community Empowerment: We emphasize the preservation of cultural values to strengthen community identity and cohesion. Post-conflict, we support villages from war-related tragedies that lasted for two decades, to promote healing and restoration, encouraging peaceful coexistence through shared cultural heritage. By connecting isolated communities and promoting dialogue, Bosco-Uganda transforms dependency into self-advocacy, aligning with our vision of “open and peaceful communities ready to face the challenges and opportunities of the globalized world in the 21st century.” We keep reminding our people that peace is so vital, and they should always try to live in peace.
Bosco-Uganda’s efforts are significant, we are going to toil as we render our services also to ensure equitable participation of women and people with disabilities in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs and maintain infrastructure in remote areas. We need our work to continue to be a vital part of Northern Uganda’s post-conflict recovery, using technology as a tool for peace and development. We need peaceful communities. “We need a lasting peace.“
