Double Protection for Reliable Connection

Lightning poses a serious threat to our connectivity infrastructure and according to research, Uganda experiences a high number of lightning strikes, with an average of 70 strikes per square kilometer annually which is something beyond human control and a single strike can damage critical network equipment, causing extended outages that disrupt internet access for schools and entire communities.

At BOSCO Uganda, we take the safety and reliability of our network seriously. That’s why we’ve installed lightning arresters at all our key sites to protect our infrastructure from lightning strikes and power surges.

Sites Protected with Lightning Arresters

Below is a list of sites that have lightning arresters installed in the ongoing upgrade.

Our Lightning Protection System Includes: Lightning Arresters installed at all tower sites to safely divert strikes away from equipment, Surge Protectors on all network devices to prevent electrical damage from power spikes and Proper Grounding Systems to safely dissipate electrical charges

At BOSCO Uganda, we’re not just building a network but we’re building a resilient system that can withstand Uganda’s challenging weather conditions. These protections help guarantee that the communities we serve can always stay connected when they need it most.

We would like to give our sincere thanks to our Partner and Donor Internet Society Foundation (ISOC) for their generous donation and support that made this possible.
