Peacebuilding
Overview
The Acoli sub-region still grapples with the negative effects of peace demonstrated in rampant violent conflicts, anxiety, anger, disenfranchisement, political exclusion, recurring demands for reparation and property (animals) lost during the wars, their missing people abducted during the wars as well as threats to its land by the Madi, Balalo, investors, and the increasing refugees. These have over time bred conflicts between the Acoli and other tribes, clans, governments and refugees with a potential for revenge, and future conflicts. BOSCO-Uganda therefore, over the next five years plans to promote peace through evangelization, direct conflicts resolutions, as well as intercultural dialogues, and learning exchanges, and therapeutic documentation and peace advocacy.
