BOSCO Uganda has commenced the installation of lightning arrestors and earthing systems at our Warocco Kwo site in Atyang, marking a significant step forward in safeguarding critical network infrastructure against lightning strikes and electrical surges. This vital project began yesterday and sets the stage for similar installations at additional sites in the coming days.
The initiative, generously funded by the Internet Society Foundation, underscores our shared commitment to building resilient and sustainable connectivity solutions tailored for rural Northern Uganda. By equipping Warocco Kwo ICT centre with lightning protection and proper grounding mechanisms, we are proactively mitigating risks to equipment reliability, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery, and protecting the long term operational integrity of our network backbone.
These upgrades represent a proactive investment in infrastructure durability, particularly in regions prone to severe weather events. As we extend this protection to more sites, BOSCO Uganda continues to prioritise safety, technical excellence, and community focused innovation that empowers digital access and socio-economic progress.
BOSCO Uganda expresses heartfelt gratitude to our Partner Internet Society Foundation for their unwavering support in making these enhancements possible. We also appreciate the cooperation of local communities in Atyang during this implementation phase.
