BOSCO Uganda has completed the installation of a lightning arrestor and earthing system at the God’s Mercy ICT Centre in Purongo. This upgrade protects the facility from lightning strikes and electrical surges common in Northern Uganda.
The project builds on the recent installation at Warocco Kwo in Atyang and forms part of the Internet Society Foundation funded initiative to strengthen rural ICT infrastructure. Improved protection ensures reliable operation of computers, networking equipment, and digital literacy programs such as Microsoft Office and on top of that protecting lives.
BOSCO Uganda extends gratitude to the Internet Society Foundation for their funding support and to the Purongo community for their cooperation during implementation. Additional sites are scheduled for similar upgrades.
