BOSCO Uganda Launches Strategic Plan 2025-2029

In a momentous event held on Tuesday, March 4th, BOSCO Uganda unveiled its Strategic Plan for 2025-2029, setting a bold vision for the next five years. The launch, attended by a diverse array of stakeholders, marked a significant milestone in the organization’s journey to empower communities through technology, innovation, and sustainable development.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including representatives from the Archbishop’s office, the Parish Priest, the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Gulu City, the Area LC1 Chairperson, stakeholders, and a representative from the UPDF, among others. Their presence underscored the collective commitment to the strategic plan’s success and its potential to transform lives across Uganda.

Thematic Areas of the Strategic Plan

The 2025-2029 Strategic Plan is built on five key thematic areas, each designed to address critical challenges and opportunities in the region:

  • Information Communications Technology (ICT) Use and Innovations

    BOSCO Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging ICT as a tool for empowerment. The plan focuses on expanding access to digital technologies, fostering innovation, and equipping communities with the skills needed to thrive in a digital world.

  • Livelihood

    Recognizing the importance of economic resilience, the strategic plan emphasizes sustainable livelihood initiatives. These include skill-building programs, entrepreneurship support, and projects aimed at improving income-generating activities for vulnerable populations.

  • Peacebuilding

    In a region recovering from decades of conflict, peacebuilding remains a cornerstone of BOSCO Uganda’s work. The plan outlines initiatives to promote social cohesion, conflict resolution, and community dialogue, ensuring a peaceful environment for development.

  • Renewable Energy and Environmental Justice

    With a growing focus on sustainability, BOSCO Uganda is prioritizing renewable energy solutions and environmental justice. The plan includes projects to increase access to clean energy, promote environmental conservation, and advocate for policies that protect natural resources.

  • Institutional Capacity Development Strategy

    To ensure the effective implementation of its programs, BOSCO Uganda is investing in strengthening its institutional capacity. This includes enhancing organizational systems, building staff expertise, and fostering partnerships to amplify impact.

A Collaborative Effort for a Brighter Future

During the launch, speakers highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving the strategic plan’s goals. The RCC of Gulu City commended BOSCO Uganda for its innovative approach to community development, while the Archbishop’s representative emphasized the role of faith-based organizations in driving social change.
