This upgrade brings three new laptops, cutting-edge solar powered batteries, and essential network equipment, ushering in a new era of technology access and learning opportunities for the local community.

Empowering Learning through Technology

The Waroco Kwo ICT Centre has long been a hub of learning and information sharing in Atyang. However, the lack of proper equipment and consistent power supply has posed challenges to its effectiveness. Recognizing the potential for positive change, BOSCO Uganda and ISOC joined hands to make a substantial difference.

1. New Laptops for Enhanced Learning

Three brand-new laptops on top of the previous three now grace the center’s desks, replacing outdated and sluggish computers. These laptops are equipped with up-to-date software and hardware, providing users with a smoother and more efficient experience. This upgrade promises to enhance the learning process, making it easier for students to research, practice digital skills, and access online educational resources.

2. Solar Power for Sustainability

One of the most significant hurdles in regions like Atyang is the intermittent power supply. To overcome this challenge, the center has embraced solar power technology. Four state-of-the-art solar-powered batteries have been installed, ensuring a consistent and reliable energy source for the ICT center. This move not only addresses the power issue but also showcases a commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

3. Network Equipment for Seamless Connectivity

In today’s interconnected world, access to the internet is crucial for various aspects of life, including education, communication, and information dissemination. To bolster connectivity, essential network equipment has been added to the ICT center’s infrastructure. This upgrade aims to provide users with faster and more reliable internet access, enabling them to explore online resources and connect with the global community effortlessly.

A Community United for Progress

The collaboration between BOSCO Uganda and ISOC exemplifies the power of partnerships in driving positive change.
